CELBAN—Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses—is specifically designed for internationally educated nurses and assesses English listening, reading, writing, and speaking in nursing and related healthcare contexts. Today’s nursing staff require a benchmark of English proficiency and having CELBAN can demonstrate to employers one’s ability to communicate in English with ease in a nursing work environment.
This preparation course is a set of practice material aimed at helping those interested in studying, or qualifying for, the field of nursing, to practice language skills as they are used during a nursing English exam. The course progresses from preliminary material practicing language skills to practice tests for each skill.
This course is a largely self-paced and self-directed, as students work through the material at a speed which is comfortable to them.
CELBAN Preparatory classes are non-vocational programs. These programs do not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
