Project management provides organizations with a structured approach to planning, coordinating, monitoring, and completing projects. Effective project management involves balancing project objectives, scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, quality requirements, stakeholder expectations, and team communication.
BITTS International Career College’s Project Management Essentials short course introduces students to the fundamental principles and practical applications of project management. Students learn how projects are initiated, scoped, planned, scheduled, monitored, controlled, and completed while considering organizational objectives and stakeholder requirements.
The course develops practical knowledge in project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, budgeting, risk management, quality assurance, communication, leadership, change management, and project administration. Students are also introduced to Agile Project Management and Scrum fundamentals and gain exposure to commonly used project management applications such as Microsoft Project, Planview, Jira, Trello, and Asana.
Through practical exercises, documentation activities, case studies, and a final project, students develop transferable project management skills that can be applied across business, technology, healthcare, administration, operations, and other organizational environments.
Project Management Essentials is a non-vocational program. This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
